Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
SpokaneWire ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website spokanewire.com (the "Service") and related automation tools, including a Meta Platforms application (the "App") used to publish SpokaneWire news posts to the SpokaneWire Facebook Page. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to visitors of spokanewire.com and to the SpokaneWire Meta/Facebook application (App ID 1343545237751210). The App is used solely by the site operator to publish content from SpokaneWire to the SpokaneWire Facebook Page. The App does not ask other users to sign in and does not access other people's Facebook accounts.
Information We Collect
- Personal Data: Email address (when subscribing to newsletter or creating an account).
- Usage Data: Browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and other diagnostic data.
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity and improve our Service.
- Editorial Content: News items, summaries, and links curated or produced by SpokaneWire. This content is public by design.
- Meta Platforms Data (App only): A Page Access Token for the SpokaneWire Facebook Page, and metadata about posts the App creates (post IDs, publish status, error responses). The App does not read messages, comments, profiles, or any data belonging to other users.
- Contact Submissions: If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and your email address so we can reply.
How We Use Information
- Operate and improve spokanewire.com.
- Publish SpokaneWire content to the SpokaneWire Facebook Page via the App.
- Monitor App health (for example, detect token expiration or posting failures).
- Notify you about changes to our Service and provide customer support.
- Gather analysis or valuable information for improvement.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
- Deliver targeted advertising (for free-tier users).
- Respond to inquiries you send us and comply with applicable law.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not request access to other users' Facebook accounts, friends, messages, or private data.
- We do not use the App to read comments or engagement data beyond what is needed to confirm a post succeeded.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager to display advertisements. These services may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. Wire+ and Business members enjoy an ad-free experience.
Third-Party Services
We may employ third-party companies and individuals for:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Firebase — real-time data services
- Resend — email delivery
- Google Cloud Platform — hosting and infrastructure
- Meta Platforms — publishing content to our Facebook Page
Data Storage and Retention
Operational data (access tokens, post metadata, logs) is stored in access-controlled systems and retained only as long as necessary to run the service or satisfy legal obligations. Access tokens are rotated periodically and revoked when no longer needed. We retain other personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or to resolve disputes and enforce our policies.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA — see our CCPA Notice. EU/UK residents have rights under the GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@spokanewire.com. We will verify your identity before processing your request and respond within a reasonable time.
Meta Data Deletion
Because the App only publishes SpokaneWire's own content, it does not hold personal data about other Facebook users. If you nonetheless believe Meta-side data about you is associated with the App, contact us at privacy@spokanewire.com and we will work with you to address it.
Children
SpokaneWire is a general-audience news site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, by a notice on spokanewire.com.
